Teehee Engineering, Inc. (TEI) is a certified EDWOSB Native American, General Contractor with offices in San Diego and Orange County. TEI is a privately held General Contractor that has been providing service exclusively to the U.S. Government since our company was founded in 2002. We have structured our company systems, procedures and hire construction professionals with extensive military construction experience and share our commitment to delivering outstanding workmanship and service.

Our in-house capabilities, proven management systems, dedication to safety at all times, commitment to sustainability, and our outstanding project teams have earned us a reputation as an outstanding SBA approved general contractor. We have broad experience in a wide array of delivery methods including design-build and design-bid-build.

Since the beginning, we have completed over 40 design-build projects under various IDIQ and standalone contracts, exceeding the level of experience of most graduated 8(a) and small business contractors.

Self Performance

As a general contractor, Teehee Engineering Inc. (TEI) self-performs a substantial portion of work on almost every project, depending on the scope and location. TEI regularly self-performs demolition, earthwork, UG utilities, framing, drywall, finishes and electrical on various contracts and task orders. Unlike many contractors, every project is managed by TEI personnel regardless of the project location to ensure that TEI's standards of excellence are maintained.

Native American Heritage - Where the Name "Teehee" Came From

The owner of the company, Deborah Hamilton, is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation who wanted to honor her beloved Grandmother Dorothy Teehee. Dorothy Teehee was a "Woman of Faith" who passed on her love and knowledge to the younger members of her family.

Dorothy often educated them on the importance of protecting their culture, knowing their ancestry, and instilling the values of integrity, responsibility and reliability. Her life was an example to the younger generation and an inspiration to all that she came in contact with.

Houston B. Teehee's Signature

Teehee wants to acknowledge another Native American ancestor, Houston B. Teehee. He served as the United States Treasurer under President Woodrow Wilson administration from 1915 to 1919. His signature can be found on paper currency during this time period.
